Search Engine Optimization is the way by which web designers/web Developers make their websites relevant to large search engines. When a web browser enters key words into a search engine’s query field, that search engine immediately checks its index to search out the most relevant results for the query. A search engine’s index is stocked with information that has been deposited by “web crawlers” that have searched thousands of websites in order to find the ones that contain the best information and links within common key word searches. From the index, search engines pull out the links that seem most relevant to the query and list them in descending order according to their significance.

Web designers/Web developers that understand the criteria by which search engines find and list their responses to browser queries use this knowledge to their advantage by including the content and links in their sites that web crawlers will consider vital and relevant. This process of centering a website’s content on search engine crawlers is called Search Engine Optimization.

White hat SEO :
White Hat SEO is Called as ethical SEO means 100% authentic way, it follows search engines guidelines. In this a content page that the search engine indexes and subsequently ranks, would contain the same content that a visitor would see. White hat advice is explained as a procedure of creating content for users, not for search engines, thereby making that content easily accessible to the spiders, rather than finding out a method to trick the algorithm from its designated intention.

Black hat SEO :
Blach Hat SEO is known as Un-ethical SEO means authentic way, is a procedure that tries to achieve high rankings in short time by using various SEO techniques that don't follow search engine guidelines, or treated as means of deception. One black hat technique uses text that is hidden, either as text colored similar to the background, in an invisible div, or positioned off screen. Another black hat method is creating different pages for the search engines and the users, depending upon who is accessing the website. This method is referred to as cloaking and it is a fast way to rank in the search engine by some Illegal way.

Gray Hat SEO :
These are SEO tactics that cannot be termed either as ethical or unethical, so Gray hat SEO is in between White hat SEO and black hat SEO, but can be termed as something in between the two. It is unlikely that a site gets banned or can have negative affects on it. In some cases Gray Hat SEO techniques can be legitimate or illegitimate.  Such techniques include Gateway Pages, Cloaking, Doorway Pages, and duplicate content.

Green Hat SEO :
It is just a matter of putting all unnecessary procedures and SEO actions to an end and focusing on what all is essential to get in website visitors. When focus is given more on the importance and prominence to the people who visit your website, your site will create more brand awareness, thereby becoming more trustworthy, rather than targeting keywords that provide more traffic, even though it means that you do not have any relevant pages suitable for them. It is to be understood that a happy customer is someone who is more important to your business to get in more profit to you, rather than getting more of inward links. 

Blue Hat SEO:
Some say its related to advanced SEO techniques used for web promotion but the same has not yet been declared by any top SEO communities or SEO groups. Originally Blue Hat SEO is a name of a weblog so many misunderstand and please do note that these SEO colors are not standard ones, they are marketing types distinguished between SEOs who adopt their SEO techniques from ethical to unethical or a mix of both. Probably in the near future we might even come up with more colors of SEO as the rainbow shades.

White hat SEO is the legitimate use of keyword-focused copy and tags, Search Engine Submissions and a quality Backlinks network to improve sites position, Page Rank, CTR (Click through rate). If site is having a good reputation in search engine positions then it is better to use white Hat SEO techniques instead of black hat techniques. White hat SEO does not include Cloaking, Spam or any other Black Hat SEO techniques. The results which come from white hat techniques are long term.

2. Black Hat SEO
In Black hat SEO optimization is mainly done in an unethical manner.  This includes cloaking, spam, violating search engine rules. If a search engine finds a site with black hat SEO techniques then it will remove that site from search engine index.  Black Hat SEO techniques can give immediate results but it is very risky.  The results will not stay longer and also it effects the site position in SERPs.
